Guidelines and Nomination Form

Eligibility

Nominees must be members of the Association who have demonstrated service to CAFCE. Nominators must be members of the Association. No member may nominate himself or herself. No member of the Board of the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education will be considered for the award while serving in an executive capacity. Although the award is available annually, there is no commitment by the Nominations and Awards Committee to make a selection each year.

Evaluation Criteria

Please describe the outstanding contributions of the nominee clearly and specifically, and address each of the following criteria:

  • Evidence that the nominee has practiced Co-operative Education successfully within a post-secondary institution (e.g. the length of time the nominee has spent in Co-operative Education, the growth of the nominee’s program, and whether the nominee has managed or maintained institutional programs).
  • Evidence of distinguished service, leadership and advancement in Co-operative Education at the regional, provincial, national or international level (e.g. by serving on boards and committees or by organizing workshops or conferences).
  • Evidence that the nominee has supported the philosophy or practice of Co-operative Education on an institutional, provincial, national or international level (e.g. by serving as a mentor, role model or guide to other practitioners, representing or promoting Co-operative Education outside the field, or by participating in program assessments).

Supporting Documents

Each nomination submission must contain the following:

  • The nominator’s full name, institution, department, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address.
  • The nominee’s full name, institution, department, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address.
  • An indication of whether the nominee is aware of this nomination, and whether the nominee accepts the nomination.
  • Nomination statement that describes the contributions and accomplishments of the nominee to Co-operative Education, and that illustrate how these contributions and accomplishments have advanced both the philosophy and the practice of Co-operative Education at the local, regional, or national level.
  • The nominee’s resume.
  • At least one letter of support for the nomination from someone other than the nominator. (A letter of support from the nominee’s institution is optional.)
