Why Apply for Accreditation?

  • Build quality into existing programs and provide a benchmark for establishing new programs by following or exceeding national standards and undergoing a peer review with practitioners from three separate institutions, often from different provinces
  • Establish credibility within an institution and within the co-operative education community in Canada and internationally
  • Develop documentation with which to train new staff and orient faculty; use it as a reference source to demonstrate and justify the mode of delivery with senior administration
  • Gain from the experience of and interaction with colleagues from accredited programs
